Charles Anthony Gutierrez was born on February 1, 1968 in Los Angeles, CA and went to be with the Lord on February 4, 2020 at the age of 52 in San Antonio, TX. Charles was surrounded by the comfort of his Daughters, Sister, and beloved Mother when he passed.
Charles entered the United States Navy on January 25th 1988. He served as a Steelworker with the Construction Battalion, better known as the Navy Seabees. Charles chose to live his life by the Seabee motto "Can do". During his time in the Navy, Charles was able to travel overseas to Guam, Spain, the Philippines, and various states within the United States. He was Honorably discharged on May 21st 1993 in Kingsville, TX.
Charles was an avid sports lover. In his younger years he played both baseball and football. His weekends were spent watching the Dallas Cowboys, Spurs, Longhorns and the Dodgers. Charles enjoyed spending time at Calaveras lake fishing and drinking with his buddies. Dancing was one of his greatest joys. He especially loved to dance to the tunes of George Strait and David Lee Garza with his Daughters. Charles enjoyed sharing his love of country and tejano music with his girls. He was the best air accordion player ever! Charles shared many adventures and inside jokes with his sister, Cindy. Charles and Cindy were truly each other's keeper. When Charles wasn't out watching sports, fishing or dancing, you could find him at the pit grilling it up.
He is survived by his parents Hortencia and Severo Espinoza, sister Cynthia Ann Gutierrez (Cynthia Vasquez, lifetime partner), daughters Alexzandria Rivera (Carlos), Lauren Gutierrez (Ruben), son Daniel Espinoza (Sarah). He is also survived by 4 grandchildren Gianna (13), CJ (12), Izabella (8), Easton (2), numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Charles will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
