Christopher (Chris)
Farias
September 26, 1940 – August 29, 2021
Christopher (Chris) Farias went home to be with the Lord on August 29, 2021. He was 80 years old. He was born in Laredo, Texas on September 26, 1940.
Chris served in the United States Army and graduated from Texas A&M University in 1962, with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was a die-hard Aggie, and one of his greatest joys was watching Aggie football games with his family.
In June 1966, he married his "Tweetheart", Marie C. Farias. They were happily married, never becoming empty nesters, as for 54 of their 55 married years, they were actively raising one or more of their 19 children. Over the years, they also welcomed their kids' spouses, children and grandchildren into their family. Marie and his family were his greatest delight! Chris was the rock all of his family looked to for sage wisdom and advice. No matter what we had done or not done, just like Jesus, his love for each one of us was steady and secure.
Chris' love for Marie and his family was only surpassed by his love for the Lord. The main thing he wanted in life was to live for Jesus, to share his life with Marie, and for each of his kids to know he loved them and he knew each one of them "by name". In the mix of 19 kids, it would be easy to feel lost, yet none of his kids were ever forgotten. Chris loved each one individually, uniquely, specially and specifically. Each one of his children had a place in his heart only they could fill, and he still had plenty of room to include all the extended family that came along with so many kids.
Chris' legacy lives on as we remember all the good times we had together and celebrate the life he lived.
Chris is admired, respected, and loved, and will be greatly missed by his wife, Marie; daughter, Lisa Tapp and her husband, Mark; son, Stacey Farias and his wife, Kelly; son, Eric Farias and his wife, Stephanie; daughter, Elaine Rivas and her husband, David; son, Elliot Farias and his wife, Melanie; son, Rene Farias; son, Carl Farias; daughter, Cynthia Farias and her husband Jeremy; daughter, Denise Dunn and her husband, Tim; son, Bryan Farias; son, Mark Farias; daughter, Michelle Villarruel; daughter, Alma Farias; son, Andrew Farias; son, Joseph Farias; son, Jorge Farias and his wife, Rosemary; son, Gustavo Farias; daughter, Jasmine Farias; son, Jesus Farias; brother, George Farias and his wife, Mari; sister, Marie Rollin; brother, Frank X Farias and his wife, Dottie; brother, David Farias and his wife, Lori; brother, Joe Farias; nephew, Richard Lopez and his wife, Lucy; son-in-law, Luis Villarruel; 19 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
