La Rosa
April 17, 1976 – October 10, 2021
After fighting a long and courageous battle from a spinal cord injury for 8 months, Chuck finally lost his battle on Sunday October 10, 2021, at the age of 45 years. He passed away surrounded by his loved ones. Born at Metropolitan Hospital in San Antonio, TX, on April 17, 1976, Chuck attended Little Flower and St. Luke's Catholic School, and graduated from Oliver Wendell Holmes High School in 1994. After graduation, he served as a Marine Corps Reservist and later became a Deputy Sheriff, working as a Detention Officer for 20 years. He was a lifelong athletic enthusiast, starting with Baseball, Soccer, and Swimming in his early years, and through High School, and later Powerlifting and Martial Arts. He was a dog-lover and befriended animals wherever he went.
Chuck is preceded in death by his beloved Maternal Grandmother Trinidad Martinez and Grandfather Porfirio Martinez, Paternal Grandparents Mary and Herman de la Rosa, Maternal Uncle Richard Martinez and Paternal Uncle Herman de la Rosa, Jr. He is survived by his Parents Rosey and Ralph de la Rosa, Sister Dr. Erika de la Rosa (Gabriel Garza), and Girlfriend Ann Marie Casanova, as well as numerous other family members, including Niece Priya Elaine de la Rosa-Garza, Nephew Myles Samir de la Rosa-Garza, Maternal Aunt MariLu Apolinar, and Cousins Mari Apolinar, Priscilla Freer, Brenda Davis (James Davis), Jon Michael Casanova, Erik Riley Gutierrez, Ryan Rene Hernandez, Chelsea Freer and Robert Freer.
Chuck is loved and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Although we could not foresee the tragedy of losing you so early in life, we take comfort in the time we had together, and the many wonderful memories afforded to us. The family thanks everyone for their prayers.
