In Loving Memory of
Clara O. Casillas
August 12, 1938 – November 12, 2025
With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Clara O. Casillas, who entered eternal rest on November 12, 2025, at the age of 87. Clara was born on August 12, 1938, in San Antonio, Texas, to Jose Ortiz and Guadalupe Gonzalez. From the very beginning, she carried strength, warmth, and compassion that shaped her entire life and touched everyone around her.
Clara was the heart and foundation of her family. She was strong, resilient, and endlessly lovingly devoted to her children, grandchildren, and the generations that followed. She cared for her family with a gentle but unwavering hand, always putting their well-being first. Clara formed a special and unique bond with each of us, offering comfort, wisdom, and unconditional love that will forever live in our hearts.
She will be remembered not only for the love she gave but for the wonderful memories she created—memories we will carry with us for a lifetime. Her legacy is one of family, faith, and the deep connections she nurtured with every person fortunate enough to know her.
Clara is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings Mario Ortiz, Juan Ortiz, Alfredo Ortiz, Janie Herrera, Carolina Gonzalez; her grandchild Michael James Womble Jr.; and her stepdaughter Maria Esmeralda Duncan.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jose Casillas; her children, Matilda Parra, Joe Rudy Casillas, Eddie Casillas, Leticia Ann Reyna; and her stepson, Joe Vidal Casillas. She leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, 19 step-great-grandchildren, and 15 step-great-great-grandchildren, all of whom cherished her deeply. Clara is also survived by her loving siblings, Albert Ortiz and Amelia Ortiz.
Clara will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to be part of her life. Though our hearts mourn, we find peace knowing she is resting in God's eternal embrace, reunited with loved ones who went before her.
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." – Psalm 34:18
May her beautiful soul rest in everlasting peace.
