Conchita G.
Villarreal
July 3, 1933 – September 10, 2022
With all of our respect and love, we announce the passing of our beautiful and loving mother, grandmother, and best friend, CONCHITA "CONNIE" G. VILLARREAL who entered peacefully in to eternal life in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2022 at the age of 89 years old. She was welcomed with open arms by her parents, her late husband, Raul Villarreal Jr and other past family and friends. She was a woman of great faith and she extended those values to her family and friends. She leaves behind 8 children and many grand, great and great-great grandchildren. Mom lived a happy and joyful life and will now rest in her final eternal destination in Heaven.
Our mother took pride and fulfillment in being a career woman. She excelled in her many God-given talents and skills. During her career, she worked in civil service at Kelly Air Force base. AIR FORCE BASE. She was then promoted and transferred to Brooks Air Force base in the position of the Information systems programmer. And after being in the workforce for approximately 27 years of service she decided it was time to retire. And after taking some time off from work, she decided she really wasn't ready to retire 100% just yet… and felt there were a few more years to go before "throwing in the towel." So, mom got right back in to the workforce! She was hired by the City of San Antonio Convention Center Bureau and truly cherish her new job and her newfound friendships.
A few of mom's past time hobbies were reading, floral designing and cooking. She enjoyed working on her crossword puzzles to " keep the mind as sharp as it can be" and believe us she would remind us of all the overseen and missed details of life.
She was enthusiastic about learning the different lifestyles of the many different cultures, the cuisines and the history behind their stories. She was happy to share with us the comparisons of her learning experiences and would gladly share them with us to tell about the differences and how things have evolved since her childhood and how they have modernized throughout the generations. She had a book collection and loved to share them and would say " I want for you to read this book so you learn about their culture and understand… but I will need for you to please return it back to me. Got it ?
But beyond this, mom stayed focused on the greatest of all challenges in her role as a devoted wife, a mother, a grandparent and a faithful friend to all. Many knew her a being a wise person, a kind-spirited soul. She was generous and was a caring person. Mom extended herself to those in a time of need. She was a genuine example of the woman the Bible teaches us about in PROVERBS 31:10-31…. A Virtuous woman of God. She was truly blessed and faithful. She instilled those virtues into her family, friends and neighbors. Mom would remind us to " believe in God's love, mercy and grace and to trust in Him as He is always in control of it all. "
Mom would say "Life is a series of thousands of miracles so always remember to take time to thank God for them all. Gratitude enables one's heart to tell a better story. Tell a story to someone to make a positive different in life."
Your life mom, was our blessing. Our memories of you are an irreplaceable treasure. You are loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. Our family's are like branches on a tree, we've all grown in different directions…yet our roots remain as ONE.
We thank you mom for always being there for us and for being the beautiful person you are to all of us. Mom's last words to us were heartfelt as should would often say. … "And I love you more. Grateful, thankful and blessed. "
