Obituary

Connie Gomez Garcia born on November 26, 1941 was called home to be with the Lord on November 27, 2020 at the age of 79. Having just celebrated her birthday and Thanksgiving, she was surrounded by her loving family. She is reunited in Heaven with her parents Arturo and Sotera T. Gomez; 2 brothers Arturo Gomez and Juan Gomez; 2 sisters Antonia Gomez Quiroga and Esperanza Gomez Herrera. Connie is loved and will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 58 years Pedro Wincar Garcia, her sons Arthur W. Garcia (Pamela), Patrick W. Garcia; daughters Wendy J. Garcia (Jerry), Deanna J. Benavidez (Eddie); granddaughters, Crystal J. Valdez (Luis), Nichole W. Martens; grandsons, Bryan A. Garcia, Jeffrey D. Martens, Christian W. Garcia; step-granddaughters, Brittani D. McKinnon (Mathew), Isabella M. Wolfe, Veronica R. Garcia and 1 great granddaughter Ashlynn N. Spengler; her 2 brothers Felipe T. Gomez, Pete T. Gomez and 2 sisters Teresa Gomez Polanco, Mary Lou Gomez Contreras, as well as numerous loving relatives and friends.

Connie was born in Lockhart, Texas then later moved to San Antonio, Texas, where she lived most of her life. In 1962 she married and moved to California (Camp Pendleton) and lived there for approximately 5 years. In 1967 returned to San Antonio, Texas. She worked hard all her life, having numerous jobs. A few of these jobs included picking cotton, working in a meat plant and working for a cleaning service but the job she really enjoyed and was most proud of was taking care of her clients after she became a Certified Nurse's Aide.

Once Connie retired she enjoyed making jams and muffins not just for family but for neighbors and the entire community. She was well known and loved by everyone in the neighborhood and community. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing games, such as Yahtzee and poker, working on word search puzzles, joking around, always smiling, and laughing. She loved music and loved to dance. She was an active member of the Sidney Lanier Alumni.

She was like everyone's mom. She was loved by everyone. She will be forever in our hearts, in our dreams. We know she went to heaven with the Lord.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 3pm until 7:30pm with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00pm.
