Concepcion "Connie" Salas Reyes of San Antonio, Texas, passed away from this earth at the age of 96 on February 3, 2020. Connie was born in Seguin, Texas, on February 6, 1923, to the late, Pauline Ramirez Salas and Jose Rodriguez Salas.
Connie lived her life as an independent woman. She loved life, dancing and traveling. Connie often traveled throughout Mexico, California and New York. She especially enjoyed visiting Las Vegas, St. Louis and Albuquerque. Her favorite trip of all was the cruise she took with her sister-in-law, Lilia Salas, to Venezuela. She had fond memories of her years working at Joske's, Dillard's and the Original Donut Shop and the great friends she made. Connie was the oldest living Cancer survivor in San Antonio (49 years).
Connie is survived by several nieces and nephews throughout the United States and by her beloved pet, TOTO. She is reunited in heaven with her loving family: her Parents, Sisters, Fermina Salas and Bruna Salas Muniz; Brothers, Jose (Joe) Salas, Jorge (George) Salas, Gregorio Salas and Manual Salas.
She was loved and will be greatly missed by all her nieces, nephews, extended family members and numerous friends.
The Salas family would like to thank all the angels that cared for our Aunt Connie at Just Like Home Assisted Living (Diane, Gigi, Maureen and Chicquita). Senior Care of Wurzbach (Luis, Kim Mays, Rebecca, Annie, Carrie, Kim Millan, Jennifer and especially "Her Brenda") and the entire staff at Senior Care that made her feel so loved.
The family will gather in her memory at Castillo Mission Funeral Home, 520 N. General McMullen Drive, for a Visitation from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2020, with a Celebration of Life at 7 p.m.
A formal procession will depart the funeral home on Monday, February 10, 2020, at 12:30pm for a 1pm Funeral Mass at St Ann's Catholic Church.
Interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery III.
