May 31, 1940 – July 26, 2024
Our Beloved Mother, Consuelo Hernandez passed away on July 26, 2024 at the age of 84. She was a proud 1958 graduate of Sidney Lanier High School and enjoyed attending the infamous "Chili Bowl" football games after graduation. Her love for sports never ceased. She was a super fan of the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys.
In 1985, she met the love of her life Richard. They were married the following year. Their love was something to be admired. They traveled many places throughout the US, Mexico and they also sailed on numerous cruises. The memories they made and her faith sustained her when Richard was called home into eternal life in April of 2015. Her faith was a big part of her life. She loved her LDS community and established many wonderful and lasting friendships.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Richard Hernandez, parents, Antonio Cruz and Margarita Vara, son, Jesse Garcia III, daughter Esmeralda and 4 siblings.
She is survived by her daughters, Debra Ozuna (Paul), Dinah Robinson (Frank), Cynthia Gallegos (Mike), Ruth Ann Sosa (Daniel), sons, LeJon Garcia (Rosemary), Richard Hernandez Jr. (Veronica), Moses Hernandez (Debbie) and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
All services will be conducted at "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" 9626 Adams Hill Dr., San Antonio, Texas 78245.
