In Loving Memory of Consuelo P. Enriquez

July 15, 1948 – September 6, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for her life, we say goodbye to our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Consuelo P. Enriquez, who passed away on September 6, 2026, at the age of 78.

Known affectionately to family and friends as Connie or Chelo, she was born on July 15, 1948, to Pablo and Rosalia Peña. As the youngest of five children, Connie grew up with an indomitable spirit. Though she stood just 4'11", her presence, willpower, and heart were larger than life. She carried an unmatched determination and a tireless work ethic throughout her career, serving faithfully across several notable establishments including Joske’s, AAA, H-E-B, the Hyatt Regency, Albertsons, and AT&T. To Connie, no obstacle was insurmountable—when she set her mind to something, she achieved it.

Connie was blessed to experience deep and lasting love throughout her journey. She shared a tender bond with her high school sweetheart and first husband, Jesse D. Quintanilla, until his passing in 1991. Years later, she found companionship and happiness once more with Everardo O. "Eddy" Enriquez, remaining his devoted wife until his death in 2021.

Above all, Chelo lived for her family. She was a devoted mother, Grammy, Great-Grammy, Sister, Tía, Nina, and loyal confidante. She never met a stranger; her bright smile, effortless warmth, and open-door hospitality meant everyone she encountered was embraced like family. Among her favorite pastimes were the cherished days when her sister and best friend, "Nena," would swing by to take her out for lunch and an afternoon of laughter playing “the máquinas.”

Connie was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Jesse D. Quintanilla, and Everardo O. "Eddy" Enriquez; her precious son, Randy Enriquez; her parents, Pablo and Rosalia Peña; her brothers, Gilbert "Beto" Peña and Raul Peña Sr.; as well as several dear brothers-in-law and nephews.

Her legacy of resilience, unconditional love, and generous spirit lives on through her surviving family: her loving children, Jesse "Chuyito" Quintanilla, Sylvia Ann Crayton (Gary), and Lisa Marie Rodriguez (Manny); her cherished grandchildren, Mark Seward (Amanda), Demetrius Seward, Jonah Crayton, Nicolas Quintanilla, Jeremiah Crayton (Morganne), Joshua Crayton (Jaiyden), and Izabella Seward; her five treasured great-grandchildren; her devoted sister, Mary Montoya (Ernest); her brother, Pablo Peña (Angie); her faithful canine companion, Milo; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and dear friends.

Chelo taught us that love knows no boundaries and that family is life’s greatest gift. Her beautiful laugh, comforting presence, and boundless devotion will be forever held close in the hearts of all who loved her.
