It's with a very sad and heavy heart we inform everyone that our beloved Mother Consuelo Olivarez Lopez passed away peacefully on January 3, 2023, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family at the blessed age of 90. She was born in Luling, Texas, on August 7, 1932.
Consuelo Olivarez Lopez, her two sisters, and one half-sister
lived a hard life when they were young. Eventually Consuelo, Lucy and Basilia married and had children of their own. Their close bond growing up led them to all reside in San Antonio, Texas, where many fond and treasured memories were created with her family and both her sisters' family throughout her 90 years on Earth.
Consuelo is reunited in Heaven with her spouse Sisto Gutierrez Sr.; parents Guillermo and Maria Olivarez; two sons Guillermo Guerra and Ricky Gutierrez; sisters Lucy Jimenez and Basilia De Leon; and son-in-law Robert Deemeur. Consuelo was blessed with a large family and long life and will be deeply missed by her children Santiago Guerra (Angie), Maryann Olivarez, Sixto Gutierrez Jr., Alex Deemeur, Steven Gutierrez (Yolanda), and Jo Ann Gutierrez; 22 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 23 great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 3:30pm until 8:00pm with a Rosary at 6:00pm. Family and friends will depart at 10:00am from Castillo Funeral Home on Friday, January 13, 2023 for a Funeral Mass at 10:00am at St. Jude Catholic Church. Burial to follow at San Fernando Cemetery III
