Consuelo Munoz Rendon, age 88, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 4, 2022. She was born March 26, 1933, in Brady, Texas to Fermin and Maria Munoz.  She married Manuel Rendon on July 12, 1952.

Consuelo is preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Rendon Sr.; son, Albert Rendon; parents, Fermin and Maria Munoz; brothers, Ezekiel, Raul, and Fidel Munoz; and sister, Linda Cruz.  She is survived by her sisters, Julia Garcia, Susie Loredo, and Isabel Cervantes; her brother, Joe Munoz; son, Manuel Rendon Jr.; daughters, Diana Sauceda (Vincent), Martha Medina (Daniel), and Irma Contreras.  She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Anthony Sauceda, Martin Rendon, Jennifer Soto, April Rendon, Jeannette McGlun, Alexandra Medina-Rice, Steven Contreras, Lucas Medina, and Breanna Perez; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She graced all of us with her love and devotion to her family.  She worked many years for Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store as a Meat Wrapper and eventually retired due to store closure.  In her retirement years, she enjoyed working alongside with her husband at their ranch planting, growing, and delivering flowers to local flower shops around San Antonio.  A favorite past time was reading the bible and attending bible study classes. One of her long-time dreams was fulfilled when she traveled to Israel.

Visitation will start at 4:00 pm with a Rosary at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Castillo Funeral Home, 520 N Gen McMullen. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at St James Catholic Church, 907 W Theo. Interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
