Obituary

Cristoval Gonzales went to be with our Lord on March 26, 2022, at the age of 64.

Chris was born on November 28, 1957, in San Antonio, Texas to the late Margarita and Francisco Gonzales. He accomplished so many incredible things in life, but he was especially proud of his family. Chris and his wife Mary Jane met as teenagers. In 1977, 18-year-old Chris would marry 15-year-old Mary Jane. Together they would share a 44-year adventure and marriage together. They would later renew their vows in 2012 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with their 5 children and family apart of the celebration. He was an incredibly hard worker, willing to take on all the tough jobs with no hesitation. As a young man he worked as a tire changer at a local service station and then a maintenance technician at the then Delcrest apartment complex. Eventually he would find a proficiency working on all types of vehicles with a specialty on diesel semi-trucks. Chris and his wife Mary Jane would later go on to start and successfully run an oil changing business MJG Fleet Service, later rebranded, CG Fleet Service.

Chris loved to have a good time and could truly be the life of the party. He loved good music, great company and his beers. He always told his children he would bail them out but only one time if they ever got in trouble. Of course, when those rare instances finally came up, he was the first one there to help his children. His sense of humor was like no other and his laugh was unmistakable. He was a faithful servant of the Lord and an active member at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church where he participated in numerous church fundraising activities. It was the first church he attended a retreat, and the experience was so moving he continued to serve in other retreats after. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life such as spending time outside landscaping, camping, and visiting the beach; he loved to swim. Always up for an adventure, Chris absolutely loved to jump on his Harley and cruise the open road.

He inspired people around him to be better individuals. His capacity for generosity knew no bounds. He had the remarkable ability to find a way to provide for his own. He was someone who would help anyone in need with support, encouragement, and guidance. Chris loved when the family got together and truly devoted as much time as he could to his family. Those times exist in our memories and will be cherished forever. We loved his caring ways, and he will be deeply missed.

There are no words that can express the feelings in our hearts. Thank you for your prayers and support during this difficult time. Your shared memories, comforting condolences and gestures of love are truly appreciated.
