May 3, 1966 – May 24, 2024
On Friday, May 24, 2024, the pillar of our family, Cruz A. Renteria, at the age of 58, was called to the Lord's Paradise. Surrounded by his family, he passed away peacefully in his home. Mando was born on May 3,1966 in Laredo, TX. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandpa and friend.
Mando preceded in death by his Father Jesus F. Renteria, Mother Manuela C. Renteria, Nephew Jesus Emilio Renteria and Grandmother Esperanza Eguia. Mando is loved and will be greatly missed by his surviving wife of 38 years, Lisa P. Renteria. His children Crystal Bueno (Adam), Cruz Renteria Jr. (Julia), his Grandbabies Lilah Bueno, Liam Bueno and family dog Bobo Renteria. His siblings Fred Cardenas (Gloria), Maria Romero (Francisco), Jesse Renteria Jr. (Teri), Irma Hernandez (Jose), Joe Renteria (Suzy), Rudy Renteria and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Mando was a blessing to many people with his ministry as a Worship Leader at The Holy One Church and Templo Casa De Oracion for many years. Mando was a Welder for over 10 years and a Retired Owner Operator Truck Driver for over 20 years. Mando loved spending time with his pride and joy his grandbabies. Mando also enjoyed watching wrestling, boxing, UFC, and his favorite teams the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys with his family. He loved traveling, grocery shopping, going to restaurants, singing and playing his guitar. Mando was known to be the best landscaper. Mando was everyone favorite uncle/tio. He loved all his nieces and nephews. Mando will be deeply missed leaving behind cherishing memories and impacting all who knew him. His legacy will live on forever.
The family will receive guests at Castillo Funeral Home on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm for visitation and at 6:30 pm for a prayer service.
A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 10:00 am in The Holy One Church. The burial will follow with a graveside service at Mission Park South.
