Daniel Gomez
Edwards, Sr.
November 21, 1953 – January 30, 2022
Daniel Gomez Edwards,Sr., was born on November 21, 1953, in San Antonio, Texas, to Fernando Gomez and Vicenta Zavala Gomez. He returned to the House of our Lord at the age of 68 on January 30, 2022.
Dan is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, Lydia Cantu Edwards; daughter, Michelle Edwards; daughter, Rachel Edwards Jimenez and husband, Reynaldo Jimenez; and son, Daniel Edwards, Jr.; step-son, Juan Cantu; step-son, Eric Cantu and wife, Claire Cantu; step-daughter, Diana Cano, and step-daughter, Vivian Leal; 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; along with numerous brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews.
Dan was known for his caring heart and sense of humor. He was a true people-person, and he brought so much happiness to everyone that he encountered. He loved helping others and giving comfort to those in need. His greatest joy and accomplishment was his 3 children. He loved being surrounded by his family, going to Pow-wows, singing karaoke and spending time with those he loved.
Dan, also known as "Bear" to his closest friends, taught us many life-lessons of being very loving, generous, compassionate and kind human beings, and by putting those words into action.
He is preceded in death by his biological parents and adoptive parents, Paul Edwards, Sr. and Andrea Zavala Edwards; great-granddaughter, Serenity Navarro; great-granddaughter, Trinity Morado; and great-grandson, Jiovannie Edwards.
Dan has left this earth walking into both of his mothers, Vicenta and Andrea's, loving arms and warm embrace. His life duties are complete and is now living peacefully. Heaven has gained our most beloved blessing!
