Mr. Daniel James Hernandez "Danny" went to be with the Lord on the morning of February 14,2021, at the age of 69. Danny was born in San Antonio, Texas, on July 8,1951.

He was a graduate from Holy Cross High School Class of 1969. He was a very caring and loving man; one of the friendliest men you would ever meet. A gentle soul all around. His humor and jokes were always the life of the party. He befriended all he met especially those he worked with at Kraft and of course all the fun and karaoke evenings at Cootey's Tavern.

Daniel is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia K. Hernandez; father, Louis S. Hernandez; brother, Gilbert M. Hernandez; sister, Rose Marie Munoz; brother-in-law, Rudolfo Munoz; uncle Robert Hernandez.

He is survived by his sister, Linda H. Saldana; nephews, Michael James Hernandez, Gilbert Sanchez Jr., Joshua Sanchez, Joseph De La Garza, Jason Munoz and John Del La Garza; nieces, Sandra Baldwin and Rebecca Mouton and a host of numerous loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Special thanks and gratitude to the all the excellent staff at Golden Estates Health Care.  Danny had many friends that kept up with his progress and communication via Facebook. May God Bless you all. Pallbearers will be Michael Hernandez, Jason Munoz, Allen Baldwin, Joe Esparza, Rudy Diaz and Jacob Rodriguez. Gone but not forgotten. Uncle Danny, I will forever miss your warm welcome and your big hugs. Love you always, Michael. Until we meet again.

Visitation will be on Sunday March 7, 2021, at Castillo Mission Funeral Home, from 3:30 pm-7:30 pm, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Procession will depart at 9:30 a.m. on Monday March 8, 2021, for a 10 am Mass at St. Timothy Catholic Church.  Interment will be at San Fernando Cemetery III. Services entrusted to Castillo Mission Funeral Home.
