Daniel Martinez joined the Lord on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at home surrounded by family. He was 61 years old. He was born in San Antonio,TX, on November 2nd, 1961. He met and married his wife Rosa in 1979. They were married for 42 years. Daniel honorably did labor work for the majority of his life until he became disabled in the early 1990's. This led him to be a stay at home father for his twin daughters and later his oldest grandson, James. Daniel was a very sociable person and everyone knew him in the neighborhood. He liked to stop and talk to everyone. He was an avid Cowboys fan. His favorite routine thing to do was his morning lotto numbers and coffee. He was always one number away from the big win.
Daniel is preceded in death by his mother, Nieves Gonzalez, and his brothers, Charlie Martinez, Andrew Martinez, Michael Diaz, and Rudy Diaz.
Daniel is loved and will be missed by his wife, Rosa; daughters, Donna Martinez and Denise Miramontez; sisters, Sylvia Salazar, Anita Gonzales, and Alma Garcia; brothers, Reynaldo Diaz, Guillermo Diaz, Robert Diaz and Richard Diaz; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 1 daughter-in-law, Elle; numerous son-in-laws, and extended family and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Castillo Funeral Home located at 520 N. General McMullen, SA,TX 78228. Visitation will be held between 1pm to 5pm with the Celebration of Life starting at 3 pm.
