Daniel A.
Ramirez
February 4, 1950 – September 27, 2024
Daniel A. Ramirez, 74, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2024, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. Born in San Antonio, Texas, on February 4, 1950, he was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Valentine and Petra Ramirez, and his mother, Margarita Aguillen.
Danny is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his wife of 55 years, Rachel Ramirez; his three daughters, Nicole Ramirez, Suzette Ramirez-Escobedo, and Victoria Ramirez; and his four grandchildren, Daniel Ramirez-Escobedo, Derek Ramirez-Escobedo, Devin Ramirez-Escobedo, and Nicholas Ramirez-Cate. He is also survived by: Sandra Alvarez, Domingo and Orlando Aguillen, Joe R. Escobedo III, David Cate, and Tanya Benavides.
A proud graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, class of 1969, Danny was drafted into the United States Navy shortly after graduation and served honorably during the Vietnam Era. Following his military service, he became a firefighter at Kelly Air Force Base, continued his career in civil service at Kelly, and later worked at Chromalloy until his retirement.
Dan was passionate about life. He loved playing softball, listening to music from every genre, dancing, and most of all, being a dedicated grandfather. His greatest joy was supporting his grandchildren—whether at their activities or special events, he was always there.
Known for his generous spirit and big heart, Dan welcomed everyone with open arms. His hospitality was unmatched—if he was eating, you were eating. His door was always open, he was a friend to all, and he loved unconditionally.
He will be remembered with love and gratitude, and may he rest in eternal paradise.
Known as "Dad" or "Grandpa" to his family, and as "Danny" or "Dan" by all.
