Daniel H. Serna, humble servant of the Lord, went to Heaven on April 27, 2022, at the age of 75. Daniel was known to everyone as "Danny" and was born in San Antonio on November 10, 1946 to David and Santos Serna, who preceded him in death. Danny was raised in San Antonio's westside where he excelled in sports and learned the trade of upholstery, which eventually became his destiny.
He fell in love with his neighborhood best friend's sister, Hope Ramos, and they married in 1971. Celebrating 51 beautiful years of marriage. Together Danny and Hope lived a memorable life filled with love, faith and family. They had three children, Denise, Desiree and Danny and 10 grandchildren which all adored him to no end. Danny always taught his family to stay humble and close to God.
He established his well-known shop, Danny's Classic Upholstery in 1981, regarded as a unique craftsman who mastered the art of upholstery, particularly known for classic car restoration. Many of his restorations were featured in publications and trade shows, or part of prestigious collections/ fleets. He was a mentor to numerous nephews, family and friends that worked at his shop; teaching lessons of ethic and hard work, there were many beloved memories made at his shop.
Danny is survived by his devoted wife, Hope, who was by his side every single day; his children, Denise
and husband Eric Hernandez, Desiree and husband Alex Martinez, and son Danny Edward, along with his
10 grandchildren, who he cherished. He is survived by his sister, Cruz Diaz, as well as several nieces and nephews which he loved dearly.
Danny held dear to his heart his faith and family but also loved his Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs. "Go Spurs Go!"
