David Isaias Cruz entered heaven on August 28, 2023, at the age of 41. He was born on March 21, 1982, in San Antonio, Texas, a son of Ramon Cruz and the late, Mary Irma Palacios.

In addition to his mother, Mary Irma Palacios, David is preceded in death by a sister, Destinee Cruz. He is survived by his parents Ramon and Leticia Cruz, siblings Raymond Eliseo Cruz, Elias (Danielle) Cruz, Delilah (Rod) Nichols, Gabriel Cruz, Jacob Cruz, Davids's partner Chelsea Anderson, 4 nephews, and 2 nieces that he loved as his own. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends.

David lived up to his names' meaning, "beloved". He truly knew how to love and was dearly loved by many.  He was a talented musician and creative individual, known for his skills in cosplaying showcasing his artistic abilities.  He had a passion for music, art, and working on small engines and could repair anything he put his hands on.  Growing up David learned the skill of masonry work from his "Pops", and they were able to work together side by side creating an even stronger bond between them.

David had a remarkable personality, characterized by his big heart, playfulness, love, kindness, and care for others.  He cherished his time with family and friends, often displaying a joyful demeanor through smiles, laughter, and even singing.  His hugs and love were genuine, making him a unique and deeply loving individual.

David's absence has left a significant void in the hearts of many, and his presence will be deeply missed.  He valued the continuation of his legacy through music, art, and most importantly, by fostering love and compassion among individuals.  By embracing these values and treating one another with kindness, we can honor David's memory and carry forward the essence of who he was.

The family will receive guests at Castillo Funeral Home on Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm for visitation. Additionally, a Chapel Service will be conducted at 3:00 pm in the Castillo Funeral Home Chapel.
