David
Fernandez
August 22, 1940 – December 17, 2025
David Fernandez, 85, devoted husband, beloved father, and sweet grandfather, passed away on December 17, 2025. Born on August 22, 1940, David was one of six children of Jesus and Soledad Fernandez. Those who were fortunate enough to know David knew him as a hard worker, dedicating himself from his teenage years up until he retired from the U.S. Postal Service after decades of service. They knew he absolutely adored his beautiful wife, Yolanda, from the moment they met and beyond her passing in 2009. They knew he would do anything and everything for his three kids, which he often did. And they knew he loved to watch sports, providing his special brand of personal commentary whenever possible. Most of all, David lived to spoil his six grandchildren, sharing his time, love, laughter, and gifts as often as he could. He was smart, understanding, handsome, funny, caring, generous, and his love was unconditional. He will be forever missed and often quoted. David is survived by his children, David Jr., Jeanette, and Jim, along with their spouses; six grandchildren; his brother, Rudy; and his sister, Sulema. Celebrate David's life on January 4, 2026, with a Visitation at Castillo Funeral Home, Chapel A, at 4 pm, with a Prayer Service at 6 pm. The Castillo Funeral Home Chapel Service is on January 5, 2026, at 10 am, followed by the Interment at Mission Park South.
