David
Villarreal
August 15, 1937 – September 17, 2024
Our beloved David Villarreal entered into eternal rest on September 17, 2024 at the age of eighty seven. He was born on August 15, 1937 in Mexico to the late Juan Villarreal and Maria Saldivar Villarreal.
Although he was born in Mexico, David was raised in San Antonio, Texas and was proud to call this city his home. He met his wife of sixty years, Mrs. Maria del Rosario Villarreal, and together they nurtured a large and loving family who will continue to carry David's legacy for generations to come.
David was a car enthusiast. He enjoyed working on vehicles from a young age and was able to incorporate his hobby into his daily life. He was also an avid enjoyer of horse races. He loved watching the races both on TV and going out to the tracks to see them live in action.
David will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity. He was caring and loving and would always be willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. The word "no" was not a part of David's vocabulary. He was always there for others no matter how far or how hard the task was. His heart of gold will forever be missed.
David is reunited in heaven with his parents; sister, Maria de Jesus Villarreal; son, Juan Villarreal; and grandson Jesus Ramon Gutierrez.
He is loved and remembered by his wife, Maria del Rosario Villarreal; children, Elizabeth Villarreal, Maria Villarreal (Santos Vega), David Villarreal Jr., Rosa Elena Villarreal, Pedro Villarreal, Margarita Villarreal (Juan Rivera), and Hortencia Villarreal; thirty-three grandchildren; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
A visitation will be held at Castillo Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 1st from 4pm to 8pm with a eulogy to begin at 6pm. On Wednesday, October 2nd, a chapel service will be held at Castillo Funeral Home at 10am before David is taken to his final resting place at San Fernando Cemetery II.
