Obituary

Debra Ann Oranday, 62, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on September 8, 2025, in her hometown surrounded by loved ones. She was born on August 25, 1963, to George Sanchez and Rosa Ramos Sanchez, and spent her entire life in San Antonio. Debra attended Sidney Lanier High School and Rhodes Middle school.

In 1995, Debra married Jesus Oranday Sr. on September 11th. Their time together was brief but deeply cherished before his passing later that year on December 13th. Debra carried his memory in her heart for the rest of her life.
Debra was the proud mother of four sons: Frank Sanchez, George Sanchez, Victor Oranday, and Jesus Oranday Jr. She was also blessed with 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who brought her endless joy and pride.

Debra had a love for all things seafood, especially oysters and fried tilapia and she delighted in Mexican cuisine. She enjoyed Tejano music, Spanish novellas, funny movies, dancing, and long conversations with family. She loved supporting local San Antonio businesses and always stayed connected by calling and visiting with loved ones.

Those who knew Debra will remember her as a strong, outspoken, and open-minded woman who always gave her honest opinion. She found joy and comfort in the company of family. Her presence and laughter made every gathering warmer and every conversation more lively.

Debra is preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Oranday Sr., her parents, George and Rosa Sanchez, her beloved dog, Babies, and her friend, Juan Jose Alcorta. She is survived by her sisters, four sons, grandchildren, great-grandchild, and many relatives and friends who loved her dearly.

Debra is loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Though her health struggles weighed on her in her final years, she showed remarkable strength until the end. Today, she rests in peace, free of pain, reunited with her beloved husband and her faithful dog, and embraced in God's eternal love.
