Debra Lynn Vega passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022  at the age of 62. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 24, 1960 to Salvador and Elodina Ortiz. After graduating from Highlands H.S., Debra attended the University of the Incarnate Word.

Debra was recently married to her love, Joe Anthony, on May 6, 2022.  She was excited to begin a new chapter in her life with him. They were together for three years and loved to go dancing. They also enjoyed working on cars together and watching movies, where she had to have her popcorn!
Debra also enjoyed traveling to the coast, going on cruises, and hanging out at different hot spots around town with her husband, family, and friends. Debra loved volunteering at the rodeo every year. She also had her  favorite shows like "The Office", "Stranger Things", and "Love it or List it". One of her favorite pastimes was to go shopping for shoes and spoiling her grandkids! Debra truly lived her life to its fullest.

Debra is reunited in Heaven with her father Salvador Ortiz and brother- Salvador Ortiz, Jr. Debra will be dearly missed by her loving husband Joe Anthony Vega; Daughters Jennifer Quintero (Rosendo), Jenise Ingleston (Michael), Jennell Pena (Ralph); step-daughter  Stephanie Ann Vega; Mother Elodina "Ellie" Ortiz;  Sisters Gilda Silva (Daniel), Cathy Alvarez (Daniel), Sharon Snoga (Howard); 11 grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will take place at Castillo Funeral Home on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 9am-12pm with a Prayer service at 11am. Family and friends will depart in procession after the service to San Jose Burial Park for a graveside service at 1:00pm.
