Delia Cantu Reyes passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 30, 2024, at the blessed age of ninety. She was born in San Diego, Texas, on December 20, 1933, to Guadalupe and Melchora Cantu. Delia dedicated her life to her family and enjoyed spending her free time with them. She retired from Our Lady of the Lake University after dedicating 17 years to the housekeeping department. In 1951 Delia married the love of her life, Elisandro, and together they built a loving family with eight rambunctious children. Delia is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband of 61 years, Elisandro G. Reyes; parents Guadalupe and Melchora Cantu; sons Alex and Robert Reyes; and daughter Sylvia Reyes. Delia is survived by her loving children; son Rudy Reyes; daughters Juanita Narvaez (Richard), Linda Reyes, and Dora Prida; son Eric Reyes (Claudia); adopted daughters, Josanna and Jolynn Reyes; 23 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.

Visitation to take place on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to begin at 6:00 p.m. Family and friends will depart from Castillo Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. in procession on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, for a 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Jude Catholic Church. Interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
