Life Goes On Anyway
This is the part where life goes on,
Waking up the morning after,
unsure of whether it was a dream or reality-
the sudden shock of the winter cold.
It doesn't ever get warmer,
but you find that the shock is no longer shocking.
You move on.
For so long you've wondered if there was a life after death,
but now you know you're certain that there is love;
her family is crowded in her room,
halfway between tears and laughter.
With all the body heat, it starts to get warmer,
despite the shock. You move on.
And now starts the mark of forever,
and it's going to be okay.
Because this is the part that you'll find,
that life goes on anyway.
