On Tuesday April 21, 2020, Dolores A. Gutierrez, loving wife, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many, passed away at the age of 85. Dolores was born April 26, 1934 in San Antonio, TX to Ramon Davila Arratia and Dolores Delgado Arratia. She was married to Jesse D. Gutierrez for 42 years and together they raised five beautiful children.
Dolores was a very determined and independent woman, she retired from Humana hospital after 20 years of devoted hard work. She spent most of her time surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and friends. Dolores enjoyed hosting holiday gatherings at her home where she showered her family and friends with love and delicious food.
She enjoyed her talent for cooking with anyone who was blessed to grace her presence. She had a very kind, loving and compassionate spirit. Her home on Cheyenne was everyone's home. Dolores was also very strong, brave and fearless. She survived breast cancer and many other difficulties her health caused; even then still she found the strength to support her family. Whether it was being present at family celebrations, showering her grandchildren and great grandchildren with heartfelt gifts, or going out to eat at her favorite restaurants with her family.
Dolores lived her remaining years at, Oscar Olivares senior complex, here she gained a second family of friends. She was so full of life and love everywhere she went, with her new home and friendships she built, it allowed her to fill her life with many activities and endless games of bingo. Although our hearts are hurt to lose such a sweet person, we gained a beautiful, loving angel.
