Dora Garcia
Leal
September 26, 1936 – May 25, 2025
Dora Garcia Leal, age 88, of San Antonio, TX, passed away peacefully at home on May 25, 2025, surrounded by the warmth and love of her daughters.
Born on September 26, 1936, Dora was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother — known for her generous heart and tireless devotion to creating a comfortable and loving home for her family. A gifted, homegrown cook, her meals were more than just food — they were her love language. She didn't just nourish her family's stomachs; she fed their spirits.
Dora raised her children with strength, patience, and quiet grace, and she helped raise multiple generations with boundless love. She didn't just adore her grandchildren and great-grandchildren she lived for them. Each one held a special place in her heart, and she made sure they knew it, whether through a warm meal, a gentle hug, or the way she lit up when they walked into the room. She loved them deeply, fiercely, and completely and they will carry that love with them always.
Dora believed in the warmth of God and lived her faith not just in words, but through daily acts of care, kindness, and quiet devotion.
She is survived by her beloved children: Rosalinda Rodriguez, Robert Leal, Terry Cortez, and Mark Leal, each of whom will cherish her memory for the rest of their lives. Her greatest pride was her role as "Grandma," a title she wore with joy and devotion. She is lovingly remembered by her nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Her surviving siblings Lydia Gomez, Adam Garcia, Ralph Garcia, and Gracie Vasquez — will miss her dearly and remember her as a steady, loving presence in their lives.
Though her earthly journey has come to a close, Dora's story is far from over. She now rejoins her husband, Jose J. Leal; her son, Jose J. Leal Jr.; and cherished family members: Nicolas Gracia Jr., Isabel Escamilla, Paulina Winland, and her beloved parents Inez and Nicolas Gracia Sr. in a reunion of love, laughter, and eternal peace.
Her legacy of faith, family, and fierce love will live on in every life she touched.
