It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Chavez, who passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 21, 2025 in her home with her husband. She was 66 years old.

Dorothy Chavez, was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas on October 21, 1958. She was born to parents Domingo and Josephine Ponce. Dorothy Chavez was married to Eloi Chavez Jr. on March 10th, 1978 in San Antonio, Texas. They were happily married 46 years.

Dorothy Chavez is survived by her husband, Eloi Chavez Jr; Her mother Josephine Ponce; her brothers Efrain Ponce and sister in law Rose Marie Ponce; George Ponce and sister in law Pat Ponce; Sisters Patricia Carroll, Sandra Ponce, Betty Carrillo and brother in law Estevan Carrillo, Lisa Garcia and brother in law Andrew Garcia. Dorothy's children Aaron Ponce, James Chavez and daughter in law Bernice Chavez, and daughter Alyssa Chavez.

Grandchildren; James Chavez Jr, Brandon Chavez, Timothy Chavez, Jeremiah Chavez, Eloi Gonzalez, Xochipil Garcia, Mila Garcia, and Sofia Preston. Dorothy Chavez also is survived by her 15 nieces and 13 nephews.

Dorothy Chavez was a Teacher's assistant at Irving Middle School for 6 years and was a devout Christian. She was a Believer in Christ and was Baptized.
