Eberardo
Reyez
September 8, 1931 – July 6, 2022
Eberardo Reyez was called home by the Lord on July 6, 2022, at the age of 90. He was born on September 8, 1931, in Hondo, Texas. He was devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great great-grandfather.
Eberardo served in the US Army from 1948-1969, assigned to both the 1
st
Cavalry Division and the 2
nd
Infantry Division during the Korean War and Vietnam War. He was awarded several campaign medals and the Purple Heart Medal. After retiring from the Army, Eberardo worked at Santa Rosa Hospital as a Security Guard until his retirement in 1994. He was a devoted member of VFW Post 4815 and enjoyed volunteering at the local post for Bingo. He also enjoyed going to local nursing homes and Audie Murphy Hospital to distribute snacks to the patients.
Eberardo is reunited in Heaven with his beloved spouse Matilde Reyez, his parents Pedro and Juanita Reyez, and his sister Petra Quiroga.
Eberardo will be missed immensely, and we will always carry his memory in our hearts. He leaves his legacy behind in the hearts and actions of his twin daughters Mary Carmen Parra and Mary Ann Rios; Son Edward Reyez (Molly), and daughter Rose Marie "Rosie" Reyez; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 6 great great-grandchildren; and sisters Olivia Gonzales and Rosa Rios along with numerous extended family and friends.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Castillo Funeral Home from 3:30pm until 8:00pm with a Prayer Service to begin at 6:00pm. Family and friends will meet at Castillo Funeral Home on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 8:30am to depart in procession for a 9:30am graveside service at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
