Edna Mae Villarreal, 70, of San Antonio, Texas, entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 14, 2025. She was born on April 12, 1955, in San Antonio, where she lived her entire life surrounded by the family and community she loved.
Edna was a devoted mother to her five daughters: Norma Villarreal (Tony Valero), Annette Thomas, Nancy Espinoza (Jesse Espinoza), Laura Villarreal-Valdez (Jenn Villarreal-Valdez), and Lori Villarreal (John Catilleja). She was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe Garcia and Elida Samudia, her stepfather, Rodolfo Samudia, her husband, Ricardo Villarreal, and her granddaughter, Desirae Villarreal.
Edna worked many years as a Food Service Supervisor, where she touched lives with her dedication and care. Beyond her profession, she had a passion for decorating and crafting, creating beauty in the everyday. She especially loved celebrating life's moments, from birthdays to holidays, always bringing her family together with joy and warmth.
She was welcomed into the arms of the Lord, where she is reunited with her loved ones who went before her. Edna's greatest legacy was her family. She will continue to live on through the generations she leaves behind.
Visitation and Rosary will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Castillo Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Mission Park Funeral
