Edward M.
Perez
March 1, 1961 – January 15, 2025
Edward M. Perez, age 63, embraced God on January 15, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer with his devoted family by his side.
He was born on March 1, 1961, in San Antonio, Texas. Edward was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. We will love and miss him until we reunite one day.
Edward is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Irene N. Perez, their five children Richard Edward (Nicole), Bobbie Jean (Daniel), Amanda Nicole, Matthew Edward, Angel Christine, and their 7 grandchildren Jazmine, Noah, Issac, Makaila, Richie, Tristan and Zariah. He is also survived by his siblings Joe M. Perez (Eva), Linda Maldonaldo (Raymond), along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Edward had a love for 18 wheelers, which he learned at a young age of 15 on how to drive when he would travel all around the U. S. with his father. He spent his last years as a driver for the San Antonio Food Bank. He was a fan of the San Antonio Spurs and the Kansas City Chiefs. His weekends usually involved going thrift shopping all over San Antonio and always bringing home an "antique" for his collection or going to Walmart to add another truck/car to his car collection. Sundays were also known as "Sunday Funday" which meant he had a "project" to do that involved one of his kids or grandkids. Kickapoo Casino was always his quick getaway destination with his wife or his children. The one thing he always said he was proud of was that all his children graduated and gave him "HIS DIPLOMAS" since he didn't get to finish school himself.
Edward is preceded in death by both his parents Robert and Bertha M. Perez.
A visitation for Edward will be held Monday, January 27, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00pm at Castillo Funeral Home, 520 N General McMullen, San Antonio, Texas, 78228 with a rosary being recited at 6:00pm.
