Edward Lopez Zapata born January 14, 1948 in San Antonio, TX to Abel and Catalina Zapata, went to join them with our heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at the blessed age of 71. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and an accomplished sign painter who's work still can be seen across SA. His love, passion, and outstanding golf game earned him the name "Boom Boom" on the golf course. He will forever be remembered for his generosity, kind smile, laugh, and his endless sense of humor. He leaves behind his legacy in the hearts of his children Lorisa Apaez (Ruben), Lanica Zapata, Lanette Zapata, Linda Rodriguez (Joseph), Edward Zapata Jr. (Amanda); 14 grandchildren; siblings Richard, Abel Jr (deceased), Arthur, Mary Ann, Diana, Joe Louis, Joe Anthony, Laura, numerous nephews and nieces, and extended family members. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
