Obituary

Efrian Gregorio Bocanegra went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 30, 2022, at the age of 76.

Efrain was born on June 2, 1946, in Clovis, New Mexico to the late Betty and Gregorio Bocanegra. He grew up one of seven children to parents who showed them kindness, integrity, responsibility, respect, and love. This upbringing laid foundations that allowed him to lead the extraordinary life he had. Efrain and his wife Frances P. Bocanegra shared a special love and bond for each other with 43-year marriage. He adored his most precious gifts from the Lord; his 8 children, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Having an abundance of family love was so special to him from the beginning of his life and a legacy he leaves behind.

Efrain was a proud veteran of the United Sates Army. He worked as a truck driver to provide for his family. In his free time, he would watch sports and wrestling. His capacity for generosity knew no bounds and he never hesitated to help anyone with support, encouragement, and guidance. He was a professional wrench thrower when he needed to make a statement because he cared so much about the success of those he loved. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; passing on life's lessons, watching his loved ones succeed and thrive, and feeling hopeful for the future of everyone around him.

Efrain made his wife Frances a priority ensuring she always looked and felt her best and loved to take her out dancing. He was most satisfied when surrounded by his family. Times when they would come together to celebrate holidays and life's accomplishments. Chances to gather around music and his barbeque where there was no shortage of his jokes and laughter. Those are all times that exists now in our memories. While his life in this world has run its course, he will live forever through those he loves until we meet again.

He is preceded in death by his father, Gregorio Bocanegra; mother, Betty Bocanegra; and sisters, Luz B. Martinez, and Ramona Bocanegra.

He is survived by his wife, Frances P. Bocanegra; children, Efriam Bocanegra, Betty Bocanegra, Dolores Cruz, Carlos Cerda, Joe Cerda, David Cerda, Regina Hernandez, Azucena Bocanegra; 29 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; siblings, Eduardo L. Bocanegra, Betty E. Medrano, Minnie B. Chapa, and Gilbert Bocanegra; in addition to numerous extended family and friends.
