It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved aunt, Egda Silvia Chavana, who left us on July 29, 2024, at the age of 85. She was affectionately known as "Tia China" and was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. She touched the lives of all who knew her. Tia China was born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on June 19, 1939. She passed away peacefully surrounded by the warmth and love of her family in San Antonio, Texas.
Tia China received an Associate's degree from San Antonio College. She embraced her love of learning by serving the students, staff and the community of San Antonio College as a library assistant/ cataloger at the Moody Learning Center for more than 20 years. She was also a seamstress and loved making sundresses for family and friends, alterations and little outfits for her doll collection. She treasured the beautiful memories created with her family throughout her life. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and strength.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Q. Chavana, her parents Arturo Dominguez and Eulalia Garcia Dominguez, brother Enrique "Kike" Dominguez and sister Hilda Dominguez Pena. She leaves behind her brothers, Ramiro Domiguez and Arturo Dominguez and sister Leticia Dominguez Morales. She will be missed by the numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews in Texas and Mexico, and the countless friends who felt her warmth and generosity.
To commemorate her life and celebrate the love she spread, a memorial service will be held in her honor at Castillo's Funeral Home on August 9, 2024. We invite all who knew her to join us in remembering a truly remarkable woman.
Con profundo dolor anunciamos el fallecimiento de nuestra querida tía, Egda Silvia Chavana, quien nos dejó el 29 de julio de 2024, a la edad de 85 años. Ella era conocida cariñosamente como "Tía China" y siempre estuvo cuando la necesitábamos. ella más, ofreciéndole apoyo, sabiduría y amor en abundancia. Ella tocó las vidas de todos los que la conocieron. Tía China nació en Monterrey, Nuevo León, México el 19 de junio de 1939. Falleció pacíficamente rodeada de la calidez y el amor de su familia en San Antonio, Texas.
Tia China recibió un título de asociado de San Antonio College. Deja atrás a sus hermanos Ramiro Domínguez y Arturo Domínguez y a su hermana Leticia Domínguez Morales. La extrañarán las numerosas sobrinas y sobrinos, sobrinas nietas y sobrinos en Texas y México, y los innumerables amigos que sintieron su calidez y generosidad.
Para conmemorar su vida y celebrar el amor que difundió, se llevará a cabo un servicio conmemorativo en su honor en la Funeraria Castillo el 9 de agosto de 2024. Invitamos a todos los que la conocieron a unirse a nosotros para recordar a una mujer verdaderamente extraordinaria.
