Elena Vasquez Bernal, 92 years young, born on 5 November 1927 and went to rest on 2 Oct 2020.
Elena was born and raised in San Antonio TX to Dionisio and Rufina Bernal. She had 9 brothers and sisters and was survived all except Luz, Ruth and Sammy.
She gave life to 7 children. She was preceded in death by her son Leroy and is survived by her children Alex, Ramon Jr., Azalia, Nelda, Oscar and Larry. Additionally, she is survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Elena graduated from Lanier High School and was a hard-working lady. While raising a family she was employed at Furrah Manufacturing, Montgomery Ward and retired from Rosemary's Catering.
Her hobbies and interest included crocheting, sewing, embroidery, and gardening but mostly she enjoyed watching her favorite teams, the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys. She loved celebrating when the Spurs won their Championships. In 1999, during the first Championship win, she celebrated by riding in the back of the truck waving the Spurs flag and wearing her Championship shirt & Cap while Oscar drove thru Downtown San Antonio, TX.
Her legacy continues to live on in the hearts of everyone she met, interacted with, and especially in the hearts of her family and friends. Rest in Peace Mom, we Love you.
