Ms. Elia Munoz Arcos, born May 23, 1947, was called home by her Lord and Savior June 24, 2021. Elia was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Valentina Elida Valdez, and her brother Pete Valdez, Jr. She is survived by her son, Peter Anthony Arcos (wife, Rosalee Bryan Arcos); her grandchildren, Serena Eryn Arcos, Lillian Jewel Arcos, Audrey Grace Arcos; her great-granddaughter, Payton Lyla Rose; sister, Annie Valdez Villanueva; brothers, Richard Valdez and Ruben Munoz Esparza, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In 1966 Elia started her civil service career where she was employed as a secretary stenographer for the United States Air Force Security Service (USAFSS) at Kelly Air Force Base, TX. This was the Command's name at this time. She was assigned to the Air Force Cryptologic Depot. Her next assignment was in the Directorate of Military Personnel at HQ USAFSS. During this time Elia was a contestant for the miss USAFSS Fiesta event. Her other assignments included working the Directorate of Manpower and the Directorate of Operations. In December, 2006, she retired after a long and rewarding career.
Elia enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. She enjoyed her garden and would give her flowers and plants away. She always had music in her heart from Elvis to Tejano music to Stevie Ray Vaughan. She loved the Spurs, dancing, lunch with her friends, and shopping. She loved Padre Island and going to the beach. She especially loved going to Vegas and drove there a couple of times on her own. She loved scratch-off tickets. She requested two tickets a couple of days before her departure and scratched them off with the help of her son. She won $75. She was loved and will be missed by her family friends.
