Elia G. Casillas went to be with our Lord at the age of 96 on June 28, 2026. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 11, 1930.
Elia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest H. Casillas, her son Ernest Casillas Jr. Her parents, Roberto Garcia, and Anita Garcia; her siblings, Alfredo Garcia, Jesse Garcia, Daniel Garcia, George Garcia, and Erma Martinez. Elia is lovingly survived by her children, Diana Gonzales (Jimmy), Ernestina Marin (Armando), Robert Casillas, Anna Marie Flores (Daniel), Randy Casillas (Norma), Ralph Casillas (Cynthia) Irma Martinez. Her numerous Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, Great-Great Grandchildren and her nieces and nephews. Elia was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother whose greatest joy in life was her family. She shared 70 blessed years of marriage with her beloved husband Ernest H. Casillas. She treasured the time spent with her family especially the many trips to the Texas coast, where she and Ernest enjoyed making lasting memories together. She found great happiness in listening to and dancing to both Spanish and country music, a pastime that reflected her joyful spirit. A woman of deep and abiding faith, Elia’s relationship with God was the foundation of her life. She faithfully prayed the rosary each day and found peace and strength through prayer, living her faith with quiet devotion and steadfast trust. Elia took pride in keeping her yard beautiful, especially her beloved roses, which she lovingly cared for throughout the years. Elia will be deeply missed and loving remembered by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, small plants are welcome or a monetary donation may be made to Meals on Wheels in memory of Elia in appreciation for the meals they faithfully provided.
