Elia P. Flores August 6, 1942 to April 13, 2026 Elia P. Flores passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, at the age of 83, after a long and fulfilling life. A native of San Antonio, Texas, she was proud of her West Side heritage and deeply rooted in her community. Elia was a devoted mother to six children, four biological and two adopted, and a foster parent for over 20 years, lovingly caring for 25 children. She dedicated her professional life to serving others through her calling as a nurse and especially cherished her time caring for the retired Marianist priests and brothers at St. Joseph's Community at St. Mary's University. Elia will be remembered for her faith, selflessness, and lifelong service to family and others. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Flores; her parents, Epemenio Puente and Maria Regalado; her brothers, Alfonso, Ernest, Daniel, and Epemenio Jr.; and her sister, Petra Garcia. She is survived by her sister, Estella Devora; her children Sharon M. Longoria (Jose), Phillip A. Flores (Yin Chen), Stephen L. Flores (Edie), April D. Flores (Jen Simmons), Dawayne E. Flores, and Malcolm J. Flores; and 11 grandchildren Lorena I. Longoria, Clarissa A. Longoria, Noah A. Longoria, Isaiah D. Longoria, Zephyr Flores, Kerby Flores, Charlie Flores, Pablo G. Flores, Amelia M. Flores, Danny E. Flores, and Leah M. Flores. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Castillo Funeral Home, 520 N General McMullen Dr., San Antonio, TX 78228, beginning at 4:00 p.m. The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. A procession will depart from Castillo Funeral Home on Friday morning, May 1, 2026 at 9:45 a.m. to St. Dominic's Catholic Church, 5919 Ingram Rd., San Antonio, TX 78228 where Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. followed by a procession to the burial service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. The service will be held at Shelter #1. The family will host a reception immediately following the burial service at the Longoria residence.
