In Loving Memory….

Elida L. Hernandez entered her final rest on October 14, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, on January 14, 1950. She was 76 years old.

Elida was a graduate of Edgewood High School and a career educator in her community. She had a deep love for, and dedication to her students. She passionately used her voice to advocate for all her students and specifically those with special needs. Her love for her students was only surpassed by her love for her family, especially her only child, Elida-Linda. She was an avid reader, a fan of science fiction, and the biggest Beatles fan in San Antonio. Elida was fiercely loyal to her friends and family and would advocate for anyone who could not advocate for themselves.

Elida is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Gonzalo and Eva Hernandez.

Elida is dearly loved and will be profoundly missed by her devoted daughter, Elida-Linda Hernandez Martinez; her siblings: Graciela (Gilberto), Ricardo, and Roberto; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family and friends.
