Eli Herrera passed away very unexpectedly on Thursday January 13, 2022, at 11:18 p.m. He was 51 years young. He was born in San Antonio, Texas, on August 18, 1970.
Eli graduated from Thomas Edison High School. He went to San Antonio College. In the winter of January 17, 2015, he married the love of his life Michelle Chavez-Herrera. After 6 months of being together, he knew he wanted to make her his wife. He worked at the Roy Maas Youth Alternative, where enjoyed helping the kids in need. He was a huge Baltimore Ravens fan. Most precious to Eli was his faith. Eli's hobbies include fishing, camping, gaming and bingo. He absolutely loved anime and all supernatural things. He also loved driving in the rain and taking spontaneous little road trips.
Eli is also preceded in death by his mom, Olga Garcia-Garcia; and his father, Delfino Herrera.
He is survived by his siblings, Manuel Jesse Garcia Jr, Joe Herrera, Isabel Valdez, Mercedes Moran. Eli leaves behind his step-dad, Manuel Jesse Garcia Sr.; and his daughters, Destine Amador, Josephine Herrera and Emily Herrera; his sons, Sebastian "Eli" Herrera, Zachary Herrera and Alex Herrera; and also numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. He will be tremendously missed, but never forgotten.
Visitation will be held at Castillo Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2022, with a Chapel Service to be held in the Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m.
