Elva Espindola Vera, 67, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, July 5, 2026.
She was born on February 1, 1959, in Michoacan, Mexico to Cristobal Espindola and Victoria Sanchez Garcia (Perez). Elva completed coursework for a career as an accounting assistant in Aguascalientes. She truly enjoyed attending school and embraced learning. In 2002, she earned her GED and later attended college courses. She worked in various, diverse industries including being a truck driver alongside her husband, Andres, once she earned her CDL. She also enjoyed attending to her plants, reading, and crocheting. She loved all her family and enjoyed having her grandchildren with her. She was very big on keeping all the family together, including participating in going to the park to play volleyball years ago, having holidays with the family, making tamales with the family for Christmas, going to get-togethers at her sisters' houses for special occasions or just because, and going out to have breakfast with her sisters during the weekend.
She is survived by her husband, Andres; daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Josh; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Steven; daughter and son-in-law, Magdalena and Anthony; her beloved grandchildren: Victor, Mariana, Iliana, Diego, Kaladin, Isabela, and Mateo; and her siblings: Jose, Erika, Arturo, Carolina, Olivia, and Leobardo. She is preceded in death by her parents, Victoria and Cristobal, and her sister, Maria.
Her visitation service will be held at Castillo Funeral Home Chapel G1 on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 4-8 PM with a Rosary at 6 PM. Her mass service will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 10:30 AM followed by her graveside service at San Fernando Catholic Cemetery II.
