Elvira Herrera Tovar entered through the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the age of 66. Elvira was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 18, 1956 to the late Silvestre and Ernestina Herrera. Elvira enjoyed watching scary movies and shopping for new clothes. After retiring from The Hyatt after 20 years of service, Elvira loved to travel and see new places. Above all, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time and creating new memories. Elvira is reunited in Heaven with her parents; and siblings Lucia De la Cruz, Angie Herrera, Rosendo Herrera, and Rosa Herrera. Her legacy lives on through her loving sons Michael Calvillo (Maria Mata) and Demetrio Tovar IV (Rebecca); her six grandchildren Michael Calvillo Jr., Angela Cavillo, Demetrio Tovar V, Tristan Tovar, Damian Tovar, and Devon Peck; her siblings Roger Herrera and Bertha Herrera, along with numerous friends and extended family. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Castillo Funeral Home from 3:30pm until 8:00pm with a Prayer Service to begin at 6:00pm. Services to conclude Wednesday evening.
