Emilio M. Acosta Jr., 53, went to be with the Lord on April 16, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on April 20, 1970, in San Antonio, Texas, a son of the late Esperanza Puente and Emilio L. Acosta.

We will forever cherish the memories of Emilio's remarkable life and the impact he made on all those who knew him. He graduated from Lanier High School.  He is remembered for so much but especially for being the life of a party where he always brought laughter to everyone. He enjoyed DJ'ing and cooking for the family. He was a long-time fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs and would make sure to watch their games with a Budlight in hand. Emilio was a very proud grandfather who made sure each occasion and holiday were filled with joy and memories. During Christmas he was always Santa for the children and family. He always had the best fireworks and many other traditions for the family that will be remembered and continued. Emilio touched the lives of many, was deeply loved and respected, and will be remembered forever by all those who knew him.

In addition to his parents Esperanza Puente and Emilio L. Acosta, he is also preceded in death by brothers, Rodolfo Garcia, Robert Garcia and Robert Garcia Jr; nephew, Jason Garcia; aunts, Margarita Vasquez and Anna Sandoval; and grandparents, Manuel and Mary Vasquez.

Family members include his two children, Sabrina A. Acosta (Robert Rios) and Vanessa Acosta; stepdaughter Giselle Balmez; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Emanuel, Nathaniel, Angel, Nicole, Navy and Joshua; siblings, Gloria (Salvador) Montoya, MaryLou (Chris) Escobedo, Jimmie (Shirley) Garcia, David (Anna) Garcia, Alfred (Susie) Garcia, Rachel (Eleazar) Ramos and Maria Elena Loza (Francisco Estrada); sister-in-laws, Mary Ann Garcia and Grace Rodriguez; cousins, Rosemary Mendoza (Tiffany Mills) and Sylvia (Gilbert) Carrizales; in addition to numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews & friends.

The family will receive guests at Castillo Funeral Home on Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm for visitation and at 6:00 pm for a Chapel Service.
