Emma Castillo Villarreal passed away peacefully on January 25, 2023, she was surrounded by her family. Born in Mercedes, Texas on September 13, 1938, she lived to be 84 years old.

Emma graduated from Mercedes High School in 1958, attended college, and graduated with an Associate degree in Business Administration.  She worked at the San Saba Poly Clinic as a Building Administrator where she retired.  She then went into Real Estate for a few years and finally retired from real estate.

Emma is preceded in death by her parents Elisa and Donato Castillo, Sister Delia Sustaita, Brother Armando Castillo, Nephews Juan Carlos and Jesse Sean De Leon, and husband Ruben Villarreal.

Emma is survived, by her sisters Ernestina Lopez (Ruben), Maria DeLeon (Jose), Rosa Ayala (Luis) and brother Richardo Castillo (Gloria). She will also be missed by her numerous nieces & nephews Sandra Salinas (Javier), Norma Lopez Petre (Jason), Veronica Bicklein (Royce), Luis Jr Ayala,  Anjelica Saldana (Erik), Andres Ayala (Cristal), Cindy Langford (kevin), Miguel Angel Aguirre (Lacey) and Rick Castillo & nephews Jose De Leon (Ryan) and Jaime De Leon (Elizabeth), Rolando Jr, Mando, and Jomichael Coronado . Along with her many grandnieces & nephews Erick, Mathew, Roel (Janelle), J.J. (Nataly), Lauren, Sara, John, Jake, Parker, Jon, Nadia, Jocelyn, Julian, Jessie, and great grandnieces Elliana, Gema, Emily, Payton, Amelia, Celeste and great grandnephews Gavin, Andres, Aiden, Landon, Christopher, and Xander.

She will be greatly missed by her sisters who frequently got together on weekends to play Chalupa and take turns cooking dinner as they planned out their next trip to Kickapoo.
