Obituary

Enrico Ruiz passed away on July 5, 2020, with his beloved son by his side. Enrico was born in San Antonio, Texas, on January 10, 1939.

He was a graduate of Fox Tech high school. Afterwards, he was a successful entrepreneur who dabbled in ventures such as owning several restaurants and a beauty salon. He was also a skilled handyman and real estate investor. He had a big sense of humor and an even bigger heart. This was evident in his comedic displays which were guaranteed to make you laugh, in the elaborate meals he prepared for his loved ones and donations he would curate and deliver to the less fortunate in Mexico. He loved to play bingo and frequently won top prizes and he joyfully spent said winnings at casinos He also had a knack for finding valuable oddities at flea markets. Enrico loved to watch baseball and was known to attend Missions games. He was also a longtime fan of the San Antonio Spurs.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Humberto and Magdalena Ruiz; sister, Gloria Casanova; and brothers, Edward and Robert Ruiz.

He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his son, Jesse Ruiz; sisters, Alice Escalante, Minerva Hernendez and Olga Stockton; brothers, Humberto and Joe Ruiz; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
