Eric Scott
Garza
January 17, 1965 – January 4, 2022
Eric Scott Garza, was born on January 17, 1965 and passed away way too soon on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at the age 56. We lost Eric as a result of complications to multiple myeloma which he battled that evil witch with courage and dignity.
Eric was a loving son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather, cousin and friend and the most proud husband to his best friend Luby Garza.
Eric had a smile larger than life and a contagious laugh with a wonderful sense of humor. He was an avid music lover and concert goer. He was a sport enthusiast and a fan of the San Antonio Spurs and the Houston Texans even if he declared he was going to quit them every year when they went without a championship.
Eric was a simple, compassionate and loving man who never gave himself enough credit, but quick to credit everyone else. He never hesitated to help someone who needed help even on the days he wasn't feeling too well. He was a family man by heart who enjoyed spending porch evenings with his best friend, having a few beers and some Cuervo listening to their playlist that they had created together, he loved and provided for his family without hesitation and he would probably say his greatest achievement in life was being a grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Luby Garza, his children Johnathan Armendariz(Charlsie), April Armendariz, Gregory Lotito(Jena); his beloved mother Carmen Garza; his siblings Shirley Garza, Elizabeth Salinas(Marc), Cheryl Garza(Andy), John Garza(Charlie), Angelica Garza, Analisa Garza(Rick) and Jeffrey Garza(Angela) Christina Garza, Georgina Garza; 11 Grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
He will be missed tremendously by all those who knew and loved him and even by those who don't even know it yet.
Eric was predeceased in death by his maternal grandparents Juan and Petra Alvarez, his Aunt Ruby Pena and nephew Xavier Coley; his paternal grandmother Josephine Gonzalez and his father Alonzo Garza.
Visitation will be held 12:00PM-5:00PM with a prayer service at 2PM at Castillo Mission Funeral Home, 520 N General McMullen Dr., San Antonio, TX 78228 on Saturday, January 15, 2022.
Eric left some final instructions that were to be involved in his final arrangements; no one was to attend 'all dressed up', therefore we request your presence in casual dress, preferably a concert t-shirt or favorite team jersey; that a parting gift that everyone could share in together to celebrate him be gifted, which will be provided at the end of the service with more instruction to come and in his words to be bar-b-cued aka cremation.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a tribute donation in his name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at www.givenow.lls.org , an organization he was truly grateful for.
Cremation arrangements by San Fernando Cemetery III Crematory are to concluded at a later date.
