In Loving Memory of Erlinda H. Cantu
Erlinda H. Cantu, age 87, of San Antonio, Texas, entered eternal rest on September 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on September 15, 1939, and lived a life filled with love, devotion, faith, and dedication to those she held dear.
Erlinda was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She treasured family gatherings, sitting outside in the warm sunshine, sharing stories and laughter, and enjoying her son Larry's delicious barbecue. Her home and heart were always open to those she loved.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Marcelino Cantu; her children, Mary Ester Roque, Johnny Cantu and wife Norma, Irene Cantu and husband Dino Cruz, and Larry Cantu and wife Norma R.; her sisters, Juanita "Janie" Oliva and Anita Perez; her 10 grandchildren, Tammy, Diane, Ramon, Eliseo, Mario Jr, Johnny Jr, Christopher, James, Justin and Tessa; her 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Erlinda was preceded in death by her parents, Maria Hernandez and Enemencio Hernandez; her brother, Julian Hernandez; and her sisters, Maria Elena "Helen" Perez and Elisa "Leesha" Perez.
Those who knew Erlinda will fondly remember the simple pleasures that brought her so much happiness. She looked forward to her McDonald's coffee every morning, enjoyed stopping for tacos from Nicha's Mexican Restaurant after her dialysis treatments, and rarely passed up the opportunity to enjoy her favorite pan dulce. These everyday traditions reflected the warmth, joy, and appreciation for life that she carried with her throughout her years.
Erlinda's legacy is one of unconditional love, strength, kindness, and family. She touched the lives of all who knew her with her gentle spirit and caring heart. Although she will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
“We love you mommy”
“We love you grandma”
“You will forever hold a special place in our hearts”
“Will miss you; till we see you again”
John 11:25-26 "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die"
"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed, and forever dear."
