Ermelinda was born 1930, growing up she would tell us story's of all her family  (3) brothers, (2) sisters traveling to the Lubbock tx area to pick cotton. Later in her teens she started working downtown at Fincks cigar company. She married Octavio Niño in 1951 and soon thereafter was the end of her working days as she became wife and mom to her family. They raised 3 sons and 1 daughter. Ermelinda loved to cook, and she was a great one; always having breakfast, lunch, dinner ready, no matter what! She also loved cleaning her house, making sure it was always neat and tidy. Ermelinda was a quiet lady but if you got her going she would get the last words in-good or bad. She would always ask about everyone, all the grandkids (5), and the great grandkids (10)-and all of them had a nickname to her. She loved music, especially performers like Vicente Fernandez, Ramon Ayala, and Selena. She enjoyed Western shows on TV- her favorite rifleman, Gunsmoke and The Waltons, were always on. Ermelinda was a strong 91 years old  that lived a healthy blessed life up to when her creator called her Home, Amen.

Visitation will take place on Monday, August 22, 2022 from 3:30pm until 8:00pm with a Rosary at 6:00pm. Family and friends will depart in procession at 10am for a Funeral Mass at 10:30am at St. Jude Catholic Church. Burial to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
