With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and friend. Ernestine Valdez, age, 76, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Ernestine was born in Chama, New Mexico, and grew up in Nebraska, where she went to school and created many cherished memories.

Life eventually brought her to San Antonio, Texas, where she and her husband built a beautiful life together. Ernestine was married to Joe Valdez for 58 years and was the proud and loving mother of three sons, Gene (Lorri), Gary (Melissa), and Joseph (Krystal) Valdez, 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildern who were her greatest joy and constant source of pride. She devoted her life to her family, always putting others before herself and making sure everyone felt loved and cared for.

Ernestine will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her kind heart, and the way her smile could light up a room. She had a gift for making everyone feel like family and a way of reminding us all of what truly matters - love, faith, and togetherness.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, 2 brothers and her sister who now welcome her home in heaven.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her love will continue to guide her family every day.
