Ernesto "Adolfo" Mercedes passed away after a lengthy illness on Friday, August 28th, 2020 at the age of 84. He was born February 27th, 1936 In Miches, Dominican Republic (D.R.).Ernesto worked for several years in the D.R. as an accountant. While there he married his long-time love, Olivia Ulloa. Together they had 3 beautiful children: Luis Ernesto, Francia, and Sussy and remained married for 9 years.

After surviving political upheaval and a small revolution in his country, Ernesto made the decision to emigrate moving first to Canada, then later to New York City. He worked hard at various jobs in order to bring his children to this country as well.

Ernesto eventually moved back to the D.R. after his children were grown and created their own families. Due to battling a long-term illness, he was brought to San Antonio, TX by his son-in-law, Eduardo Bojorquez to live with his daughter Francia's family.

Ernesto is preceded in death by his mother Juana, father Enrique, grandmother "Mama" Goya, grandfather Felipe, sister Nenita, brothers Alberto and Domingo. He is survived by his sisters: Antonia, Casimira, Matilde, Rosa Altagracia, Ana Hilda and brothers Jose Enrique and Tulio Enrique. His nieces: Rosa Angiolina, Mirian, Betzaida, Olfa, Julia, Nenita, Maribel, Myrian and nephews: Ramon Enrique, Jose Enrique Jr., Antonio, Israel, Jose, Luis and Freddy. His children: Luis, Francia, and Sussy, and son-in-law Eduardo; grandchildren: Eduardo II, Alexandra Mariel, Gabrielle Diandra, and Jennifer Bido. His great-grandchildren: Giana Lillian, Eduardo Romeo III, and Oliva Rose.

Ernesto will be remembered for his generous spirit, sense of humor, work ethic and kind heart. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. May your gentle soul rest in peace with the Lord.
